Haeckels: Natural skincare and fragrance products from natural origins — Goodfind

Margate Perfume uses the location where found the fragrance to design the package box of perfume with the trickiest name in the world. This inspired me to have a particular idea of producing products with memories and portraiting experiences that I have been through during this year in London. Haeckels though the wooden box the perfume comes in has the GPS above, on the website the perfume is kindly called Dreamland / GPS 23’ 5” N.

The packaging is in a wooden box, Dreamland is part of Haeckel’s GPS collection, featuring fragrances inspired by and created from ingredients discovered at a specific GPS location.

Dreamland was originally a 19th-century amusement park in the centre of Margate, which fell into disrepair when its famous wooden roller coaster burnt down.
To experience this location is to walk around this monumental disused ride, itself a victim of arson, with the scent of burnt wood and charred leather surrounding you to then find yourself at the back of the site where there were once the ornamental gardens. The fragrance of the burnt ride gives way instead to the Victorian roses that are still growing where they were originally planted and have seen the amusement park in its journey from popularity to demolition and finally now to a resurrection as the remaining burnt ride is restored.
